Virtual Commissioning (VCx)

Designed to provide custom recommendations for small-to-medium-sized buildings, this program aims to reduce energy consumption for businesses with even less than 100kW peak demand. It includes a comprehensive analysis of a building’s energy performance using interval meter or AMI usage data in combination with advanced modeling techniques.

This approach helps identify and recommend energy efficiency measures and potential behavioral and operational changes to enhance overall energy performance.

Incentives cover up to 100% of the cost of integrating third-party hardware and software solutions.

VCx services include:

Measure existing traditional building systems and controls
Analyze your building’s energy performance using interval meter and or AMI usage data
Model, identify, and recommend potential measures and changes to improve energy performance
Continue to review your building’s energy usage to confirm measures or changes are successfully carried out

By participating in these energy efficiency and peak demand reduction programs, customers agree to allow their utility to retain ownership of all Capacity Rights which refers to the demand reduction associated with any energy efficiency and peak demand reduction measure for which incentives were provided by the Company. Your utility will aggregate these energy efficiency demand reduction attributes into the PJM capacity market with proceeds being used to offset the program costs.

JCP&L’s energy efficiency programs are administered by TRC, a third-party implementation specialist that helps homes and businesses save energy.
