JCP&L Energy Solutions for Business Program

TRC Solutions, Inc. (“TRC” or “we” or “our”) is acting as the implementer of the JCP&L Energy Solutions for Business Program (“Program”) for Jersey Central Power & Light (“JCP&L”). This role involves the collection of certain personal information to facilitate your involvement in the Program. TRC takes the privacy and security of your personal information seriously. This notice is effective January 1, 2025, and describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information.

Notice at Collection (Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information)

Under the New Jersey Consumer Data Privacy Law (NJDPL) and other applicable state laws, we must inform you about the personal information we collect, how we use it, and how it may be disclosed.

TRC anticipates the collection of the following categories of personal information and may disclose certain personal information to third parties or service providers for the business purposes listed.

As part of our implementation of the Program, we may collect, or, in the past 12 months, we may have, collected the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers, such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
Personal information, such as financial information necessary for program participation
Protected classifications under State or federal law, such as disability status or other attributes (if voluntarily provided for program eligibility)
Customer records, such as transaction, account, and energy use
Internet or network activity, such as browsing history and interactions with our website
Geolocation data, such as equipment or service location
Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, such as call and video recordings (if applicable)

We will retain your personal information until the latter of either the conclusion of the Program, or as required by our contract with JCP&L.

Use of Personal Information

We may use your personal information for the following business purposes:

To communicate with you and manage your Program incentive or trade professional network membership
To determine your eligibility for and participation in certain programs
For our employment and vendor management purposes
To personalize, advertise, develop, improve, and market our products and services
For quality, safety, and data analysis
To perform accounting, auditing, and other internal functions, necessary to the Program
To maintain business records
To conduct investigations and comply with legal obligations, pertaining to the Program
To exercise and defend legal claims
For uses we notify you of or obtain your consent
For use in a lawful manner compatible with the context in which it was provide

Under the NJDPL, you have the following rights:

Right to access – you may request details on the personal information we have collected about you.
Right to correction – you may request that we correct any inaccuracies in your personal data.
Right to deletion – you may request the deletion of personal data, subject to legal and operational requirements.
Right to opt-out of data sales and targeted advertising – TRC does not sell personal information. However, if applicable, you may opt out of certain data-sharing practices.
Right to data portability – you may request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
Right to non-discrimination – you will not be denied service or charged different prices for exercising your privacy rights.
